Uganda National Oil Company-They are that club

 Dressed in black and and white, which are colours I often reserve for when I am called to speak at corporate events, I left home at 3pm for the installation ceremony of theUganda National Oil Company Toastmasters Club executive committee 2026-2027.

Thursdays are good days for me. I set them aside for swimming, hair, or meetings. The day was ideal. The organising committee left no prisoners with the lavish and classy decorations, well set up buffet and exraordinary cake. 

Guest after guest arrived and I was left in awe as the session began. Given the background  of this club, which survived its fledgling years and has thriven to an over 30 member club with impressive and notable leadership, this was an event not  to be missed.

As keynote speaker, I focused on turning a milestone age and the journey and changes in the spiritual, emotional and physical space and how intentionality becomes a normal part of my process.

The chief guest was aspirational and moving, calculating the strides towards effective communication and the camaraderie and recognitions were a powerful conclusion to the ceremony.

I do not recall installations as memorable and it was quite the honour to be invited to deliver the keynote address.

Congratultions to the new and poutgoing exco and appreciation to the organising team for arranging a warm vibrant and intellectually stimulating evening.

The Rhema Ladies' Reunion

 This was such an extra-ordinary day with extra-ordinary encounters. A sizzle after the drizzle.

In Mid-July this year 2026, Rhema, a fellowship that i belonged to 20 years ago, celebrated its reunion, rekindling and testimonies. A spontaneous get-together that held its own in such a resplendent way.

It was during the vigil of one of our very own that the suggestion of a reunion popped. Two months later, we gathered at the home of Jennifer Mwijukye in Naguru, on a Saturday that started with a drizzle and ended in a sizzle.

I had not seen most people in about 20 years, with new members whom I was glad to become acquainted with.

There were grand testimonies of change, physical evidence of change, global accolades for some and more importanly, a depth of reconnection. The time of intercession lit us with the Holy spirit fire. The proof of God's manifestation led us to His perfection.

His tming is perfect. On hearing the stories and immersing myself in the beauty of it all, it was the most opportune reminder that I am in His divine blessing. 

The next chapter of my life began.

Over the ast three and a half months, praying in earnest everyday from 3am  to 4am or 4am to 5am, this day was a revelation. I understood the reason for my prayer. The destiny helper. The fulfilled promise. The reason.

The real entertainment lay in the commentary. Huge props to them.

Our two eldest daughters stayed up late to support Spain and they went to bed elated. I knew about the score from the Spanish flags on interne highlights. Congratulations, L'Espana. I decided to watch highlights and the team spirit from Spain was magnificent. Truly incredible and they held tremendous control of the game.

Huge congratulations to France as well, for holding their own. They are a team that remains unflappable.

Celebrating 19 years of marriage, at Le Chateau

Yes, it is worth all the hype. 19 years of mrriage and dinner at Le Chateau, the fine dining within Le Petit Villge in Nsambya, Kampala city Uganda. This ws on 7. July. 2026. A Tuesday.

With the right tenderness, softened with meticulous care, sliced to pefect precision and garnished in delicate quantities, the dinner and the marriage, it is worth it.

Treat yourselves. 

Do not wait until the other has checked all the boxes-they have stopped texting when talking to you, they have stopped rolling their eyes at the in-laws, they have stopped burning food and started laying the bed properly when it is their turn. 

Do not wait for all those pet peeves to vanish. Treat yourselves and you will return to those bothersome habits later on.

Fine dining is this: Soft piano music cascading across the leafy green artistry and minimalistic balconies.  There is sufficient lighting that dims in and out of light conversations and laughter. It is sophisticated.

Treat yourselves. Find something to do that carries the years of the marriage lightly across your hearts and lavishes you with enough to keep going.

19th anniversary. 57 to go.
